Frequently asked questions

What if it rains or it's freezing outside?
Don't worry, we've got you covered! We have access to undercover areas, so if it's raining or the weather takes a turn, we can easily move our sessions there. As for the cold, we recommend dressing in the appropriate layers. You'll be surprised how quickly you warm up; most members are down to a t-shirt or singlet pretty early in the session!
Are there any social events or opportunities to meet other members?
Absolutely! We truly pride ourselves on building a strong community. We have regular coffee catch-ups after sessions, fun pub nights, park runs, obstacle events, and workshops – just to name a few of the regular happenings!
Will exercises be modified if I have an injury or limitation?
Yes, of course! If you have an injury or a niggle, we are more than happy to modify the session for you to ensure you don't aggravate it. We highly recommend consulting a health professional before starting with us so we are fully aware of what exercises you can and can't do. This also means you'll be able to incorporate your rehab exercises into our sessions. Everyone is different, and our experienced trainers can easily regress or progress any of our movements to suit your needs.
What are some good exercises to do while on holiday?
The best exercise on holiday is one you genuinely enjoy and can do consistently! When I was recently in the USA, I didn't do any resistance training for over 5 weeks, but I walked and swam more than ever before. You might find you exercise even more on holiday! It can be a great time to try new things or even utilize some of our online recorded sessions.
Will I be pushed too hard in group sessions?
Not at all! Everyone works at their own pace. If certain exercises are too difficult, we can always provide a regressed version. Looking to challenge yourself more? We'll happily give you progressed movements! Our trainers are always happy to answer any questions you may have.
How do you keep clients motivated?
We keep things exciting by providing fun and engaging workouts, but we also know that exercise is just one piece of the puzzle. By offering opportunities for members to socialize and build connections, they're not just training with other members – they're training with friends!
Can I attend group sessions if I'm new to exercise?
Yes, absolutely! We have a wide variety of fitness levels within our group. Some members haven't exercised in 3+ years, while others are simply looking for an enjoyable way to stay active.
I have a few "wear and tear" injuries. Can I still join the group?
Of course! Our trainers can modify the sessions specifically for you and your fitness level. If you have an injury, we can either regress an exercise, swap it out for something completely different, or avoid movement through the injured area altogether. If it's a serious injury, we highly recommend consulting a health practitioner, and we're happy to work together with them.
How many people are in a typical boot camp class?
Our sessions typically range from 5 to 20 members. We ensure that we have at least 1 trainer for every 12 members so our trainers can effectively modify, progress, and regress exercises as needed.
What's the most effective way to lose weight/build muscle?
The most effective way to lose weight is to be in a caloric deficit (meaning you burn more calories than you consume). The best way to build muscle is through progressive overload (think heavier weights, more reps, shorter rest, or harder exercises).
What type of exercises and workouts will I be doing?
We use a variety of different equipment to keep things fresh and challenging! For strength, we use dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, deadballs, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises. For cardio, you'll find battle ropes, skipping ropes, and much more!
What kind of equipment do I need for group sessions?
For our group sessions, you just need to bring a drink bottle, a towel, and a mat. All of our other equipment will be at the park, ready to go when you arrive!
